Giant STP 2010, back to the jump line!
Today, we were working hard to bring this "old" but super strong and cool Giant STP back to life.
Found it on Kijiji, it was used for trails mostly and had both front and rear derailleurs. The front hub needed some work as the wheel wasn't properly installed and there was some play between the hubs and the axle.
After the front hub being fixed, it was time to make it single speed so we got a Foundation Single Speed Kit,- ufffff such a nice find!! Thanks pinkbike!!-, and we replaced the rear cassette with at this amazing single speed version.
The next part was to replace the old mechanical breaks with some hydraulic ones for the rear tire, for dirt jumping you don't need the front one. Got a Shimano rear break with enough hose for barspins.
It was time to install a new bar that's nice for tricks and that's short enough to spin it with a very classy DB stem.
Lastly, I installed some Maxxis tires and Kenda tires to give it some attitude and get it ready for the jumps.
Here are the pics of the process.
