2016 Devinci Troy RS3
The Troy is an impressive trail bike, featuring a fifth-generation Split Pivot frame design with enhanced linkage, shorter chain stays, and an extended front center. Every size in the lineup boasts a 20mm longer top tube, showcasing Devinci's commitment to performance. Categorized as an all-mountain (AM) bike with slightly shorter legs, the Troy comes equipped with a high/low geometry flip chip and an asymmetrical rear end.
Providing some context, my previous biking experience primarily revolved around downhill bikes known for their plush suspension and a stiff dirt jump bike. When I attempted to take my Intense Slopestyle bike to the trails, it quickly became apparent that it wasn't the right fit. The Intense SS2 proved to be cumbersome and lacking agility, especially when it came to pedaling uphill. However, when I finally got the chance to ride the Troy, it felt like pure magic. The bike's geometry was perfectly suited for trails and more level terrains. Riding it was an absolute blast, and it marked my initial genuine realization of the profound impact that geometry can have on a bike's performance, beyond the theoretical discussions found on online forums and websites.
